Introduction and history
The Modern Kebaya/Kurung is also favoured in the state of Johor. This modern attire is designed with various cuttings but still retain its traditional values that is consisting of a blouse and sarong.
These blouses are made shorter with tight cutting according to the body shape, and beautified with a variety of decorations like lace and ornamental stones.
The sarong’s cutting is also tighter known as, among them, ‘A-line cutting’ and ‘umbrella flare’. These attire’s cuttings developed around the 1950s and 1960s.
The fabric too is according to the latest one as found in the market.
