Introduction and history
The costume was first introduced in the 1960s and 1970s apart from the Short Baju Kebaya.
The Modern Baju Kurung or Modern Baju Kebaya is now back to be donned by young women. Its simple cutting and neatness as well as the sarong readily sewn make this costume suitable to be of office wear or for informal event.
The cutting is akin to Baju Kedah but decorated with embroidery and ornamental stones to look more beautiful. This attire uses high quality material.
