Introduction and history
Baju Kedah is simple, made from cotton fabric. It has a straight cut and slanted till hip level, as well as long sleeve till below the elbow. The neckline is round and parted a bit at the frontal.
The blouse is matched with batik fabric sarong folded in ‘overlapping’ style. A long batik fabric cloth covers the head from sunrays. Normally this costume is donned when working in paddy field or vegetable garden.
