Introduction and history

This song and dance are closely associated with the nickname for Perlis, Indera Kayangan. Mak Inang Kayangan means "Mak Inang from the heavens," originating from Perlis. The variations of this dance are similar to other Inang repertoire but with slight differences in movements, such as silat-like actions performed by male dancers.

Serves as a symbolic acceptance of a proposal from the male party.

Male dancers extend their hands toward female dancers. If the female dancer fends off the gesture, it indicates disagreement. If the female dancer accepts the male dancer's hand, it signifies agreement to form a relationship.
