● 4 cups of Hill Rice / Rice - use hill rice to preserve the traditional authenticity.
● 2 cups of brown rice - to give an authentic color texture
● 3 sweet potatoes - Use purple sweet potatoes
● 1 yam – medium size
● ¼ yellow pumpkin (optional)
● 10 leaves of Ketapang (Doringin) - can use tarap leaves
● ½ tablespoon salt – gives a creamy taste
● Water
1. Wash the hill rice and brown rice until clean then drain.
2. Dice the sweet potato, yam or pumpkin and wash them thoroughly.
3. Mix hill rice, brown rice, sweet potato, yam or pumpkin and cook.
4. Add a pinch of salt to give a creamy taste.
5. Once the ingredients are perfectly cooked, loosen and partially pound all the mixture while it is still hot.
6. Spread Ketapang leaves or Tarap leaves over low heat to soften them so that they are easy to fold and shape without tearing.
7. Then, place the mixture of rice and sweet potatoes in the center of the leaf, then wrap it tightly using the leaf so that it forms a dense package. Fold the tip of the leaf to make sure the contents do not come out.
8. Linopot wrapped rice is ready to be served with side dishes.
