MOON CAKE

Mooncakes are usually available around a mid-autumn festival or Chinese New Year. It has a sweet taste and can be eaten on its own. This cake is round and square and consists of duck egg yolk (salted) and other ingredients. In addition, moon cakes have various fillings inside. The core consists of a paste of lotus seeds, red beans, walnuts, sesame seeds, almonds, pumpkin seeds, and watermelon seeds. There are also other cores such as yam, pandan, and even durian in line with the changing times. In the past, there were many mythical stories about this cake. Chinese people will eat this cake to commemorate the history of a king's wife who has sacrificed for her people.
