CHINESE TRADITIONAL GAME - YOYO

CHINESE TRADITIONAL GAME - YOYO

Chinese Yo-yo is a traditional game from China that has two disks of the same size connected by a long axle. A Chinese yo-yo will always spin on a string tied to two small sticks. Players will hold the ends of both sticks and balance the yo-yo from falling. This game is known to have existed since the Ming Dynasty around 1386 to 1644 AD.

Traditional Chinese Yo-yo toys are made of bamboo, where they break easily and are not suitable for extreme stunts. Some Chinese Yo-yos include a device that produces a sound when rotated rapidly. This pitch level allows the player to balance the speed of the yo-yo.

For modern times, this game is also known as Diabolo, the wooden disc has been replaced by plastic material and it can be observed that this game is sometimes played among the younger generation.
