PENERAM CAKE

Kuih
Peneram is also known as Kuih Peniaram (Peniaram Cake) on the east coast of
West Malaysia. It is a traditional cake of the Malay community especially in
the district of Kota Setar in Kedah as well as other areas in general. This
cake is made of rice flour, wheat flour, granulated sugar, palm sugar, cooking
oil, salt and an adequate amount of water.
Sieve both the flours together then mix in the sugar. Melt the palm sugar and salt with water then add into the flour mixture. Knead to become a dough and leave it for about 30 minutes. Roll the dough then cut into shapes using this cake cutter. Fry till the cake floats on the oil surface that signifies that the cake is cooked.
