'KUIH LOYANG' TRADITIONAL MOULD CRISPY CAKE
Kuih Loyang is also known as Kuih Ros (Ros Cake), Kuih Bunga Durian (Durian Flower Cake), Kuih Cap (Imprinted Cake) and Kuih Goyang (Shaken Cake). It is made of rice flour, coconut milk, granulated sugar, egg, betel lime powder, cooking oil, salt and an adequate amount of water.
The community of the district of Padang Terap in Kedah named this cake as Kuih Goyang, translated literally as the Shaken Cake. This is so as after the mould is dipped into the thin flour mixture the mould is then dipped into the hot cooking oil and shaken until the flour mixture falls into the hot oil.
