Generally this traditional game of the KadazanDusun ethnic is the combined skill and agility of processing paddy traditionally. It displays the uniqueness and cultural beauty in processing paddy after it is harvested until it becomes rice ready to be cooked.
There are three levels in this game, starting with separating the paddy seeds from the stems by " mengoggik"" or trampling the stems. Then 'mengatap' to test the skill of separating the paddy from dregs using 'raya' or basket. Finally is 'monutu' or 'moniri' that is the skill to separate the rice from the paddy husk by using a mortar and 'tolu' or pestle.
