(THE CULTYRE AND CUSTOM OF THE MALAY COMMUNITY: THE CUSTOM OF INVITING)

INTRODUCTION
To the Kelantanese, Bermadahmeans inviting, and is held when the parents intent to hold a wedding ceremony for their son/daughter. The Kelantanese named this custom as padah or to invite. The invitation is more known as A Wedding Invitation. Nowadays, the invitation is also known as Thanksgiving Event.
The process begins with printing of invitation cards based on the number of would-be invited guests. Normally close families are invited verbally. When the cards are ready the parents of the would-be groom and bride convey the invitation by visiting house-to-house. Residents of the neighbourly villages are also invited based on the size of the would-be ceremony.
