(THE CULTURE AND CUSTOM OF THE MALAY COMMUNITY: THE BERDERAI OR WORKING TOGETHER CUSTOM)

The berderai custom is a practice of working together in the preparation of a celebration or ceremony. The normal practice is like slaughtering animal, skinning the animal, getting ready the utensils like chopping wood for the fire and big pots for cooking, as well as getting ready the venue.
This custom, which is still practiced by the village folks, shows that the spirit of togetherness and consensus are still strong among the local villagers.
