ASKING A WOMAN HAND IN MARRIAGE

After the man side is satisfied with the background of the womanfamily, and vice versa, then the asking the woman hand in marriage will take place. A representative will be selected to visit the woman premises to discuss about matters related to marriage. The woman mother discusses with the representative regarding the amount of dowry, table allocation for the dinner and choosing the most suitable date. The man side does not bargain as it is afraid that this might downgrade the woman side dignity.

All agreed matters are informed to the man parents who will discuss with their son to prepare all requirements by the woman side. The engagement custom will be held after both the man and woman know each other well and agree to marry.
